UT Permian Basin is giving back to students—one class at a time. We’re proud to offer a Public Service Graduate Scholarship to students who will one day serve their communities as educators or public administrators.  

The Public Service Graduate Scholarship awards $500 to new admits starting an eligible online graduate program in Fall 2022. This award amount is applied to the first course students enroll in at our University, easing the start of their graduate studies.

Who Is Eligible?  

To qualify for the Public Service Graduate Scholarship, students must be newly accepted and initiating their degree at UTPB in Fall 2022. This scholarship is only available for the Fall 2022 semester, which includes Fall A, Fall B, and Whole Fall. Eligible programs include: 

How Do I Apply?  

Scholarship funds are disbursed automatically after a student enrolls in courses for the Fall 2022 semester and all other grants and scholarships are applied to their tuition balance.  

To receive scholarship funds, all you have to do is apply to UT Permian Basin

  • Choose an eligible online graduate program. 
  • Submit your application on goApplyTexas.org.  
  • Complete any additional application requirements. 
  • Complete the scholarship form.  
  • Await our admission decision. 

Newly admitted students who’ve already paid for their fall courses will automatically receive scholarship funds if they meet the eligibility requirements.

We offer the Public Service Graduate Scholarship in the hopes that it will assist you in becoming an educator, superintendent, or public administrator. At UT Permian Basin, you’ll gain knowledge and skills essential for these roles, and we can’t wait to see how you use them to brighten the lives of others.

The Public Service Graduate Scholarship awards $500, which is applied to the cost of the first course in an eligible online master’s degree program. 

Courses eligible for scholarship funding are 3 credit hours and cost $1,102.97 after fees. Scholarship funds will be applied to this tuition cost once all other grants and scholarships have been awarded.  

Students must be newly accepted to UT Permian Basin and initiating their degree in Fall 2022. Eligible online programs include: 

  • Master of Arts in Bilingual/ESL Education 
  • Master of Arts in Educational Leadership 
  • Master of Arts in Literacy 
  • Master of Arts in Special Education (including both track options) 
  • Master of Public Administration 
  • Superintendent Certification 

Prospective students must be accepted to UTPB and enroll in courses for the Fall 2022 semester to receive scholarship funds. To apply: 

AT UT Permian Basin, scholarship funds begin to disburse 10 days before the first day of a semester. Students will receive Public Service Graduate Scholarship funds after all other grants and scholarships have been applied to their tuition balance.  

The last day to enroll in Fall 2022 courses is 10/26/22.  

Students must register for at least one 3-credit course for the Fall 2022 semester to be eligible for scholarship funds. 

Students are not required to complete their first course or maintain a certain GPA to receive scholarship funds.  

All qualifying students will receive the Public Service Graduate Scholarship, including those who’ve already paid for fall courses.  

The Public Service Graduate Scholarship does not affect financial aid.  

The Public Service Graduate Scholarship is currently only offered for the Fall 2022 semester, which includes Fall A, Fall B, and Whole Fall.
