Once you’re admitted and your FAFSA is processed, we’ll let you know if you qualify.

General Renewal Requirements:
- Continue to meet initial eligibility requirements every academic year.
- Successfully complete 24 credit hours without an F, W, I, or U.
- Meet satisfactory academic progress.
- Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Students can continue to receive Falcon Free funding for up to four years/eight semesters. Most undergraduate programs can be completed in eight semesters if students complete 30 credit hours per year.

No. Once you file your FAFSA, the Financial Aid Office will let you know if you’re eligible.
The Financial Aid Office reviews eligibility based on each academic year’s FAFSA. Eligible recipients will be reviewed if they complete the FAFSA by the deadline for each academic year and meet all program eligibility requirements listed above.
Yes, earning an associate degree has no effect on your eligibility. The program is for undergraduate degree-seeking students who don’t already have a bachelor’s degree.
Falcon Free funds are renewable for up to eight consecutive semesters (summers not included), as long you continue to meet the initial and renewal requirements.
We review Falcon Free eligibility each semester after total enrollment is confirmed. This typically happens at the mid-point of the semester. If you’re Falcon Free eligible and have any remaining tuition and mandatory fees not covered by scholarship and grant funds, we’ll award additional grant funds at that time.
Yes. Students must meet UTPB’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
Yes. Falcon Free is based on financial need eligibility, not on dependency status.
