Student Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Compare and contrast the characteristics of public, nonprofit, and for-profit organizations.
  • Explain how alternative organizational theory perspectives (e.g., scientific management, open systems, human relations, etc.) define organizational effectiveness and what each perspective emphasizes to improve such effectiveness.
  • For a specific agency, compose a plan to improve organizational effectiveness in areas such as service productivity, worker morale, and agency resource growth and survival.
