Choose between two ELCC-recognized concentrations:
- Master of Arts in Bilingual Education – Students will learn how to promote effective learning environments for English language learners and explore cultural diversity, perspectives on teaching and learning, and the background of bilingual education in the U.S. Spanish proficiency required.
- Master of Arts in ESL Education – Students will learn how to develop, implement, and manage strategies and tactics for effectively teaching students whose native language is not English.
Both programs:
- Are only 30 credits.
- Can be completed in as little as one year.

MA in Educational Leadership
This program prepares students to take on the diverse responsibilities of leadership roles by providing skills and experience in the areas of administrative and instructional leadership, school law and ethics, and organizational theory.
This program:
- Is only 30 credits.
- Can be completed in as little as one year.
- Is aligned with the Texas SBEC Principal as Instructional Leader certification competencies.
MA in Literacy
This program can be completed in less than two years and will equip you to collaborate with educators, psychologists, and parents to develop and implement needs-based reading programs for students, provide recommendations to district administration, and assess reading strengths and create intervention plans for at-risk students.
This program:
- Is nationally recognized by the International Literacy Association (ILA).

This program explores the use of technology and innovation in the classroom and demonstrates how to overcome the unique challenges teachers face today, including maximizing resources, using universally designed instruction, a focus on diversity and inclusion issues, and assessing individual student needs.

MA in Special Education with Autism Spectrum Disorders Track
This program explores the use of evidence-based interventions and strategies along with technology and innovative practices in the classroom and demonstrates how to overcome the unique challenges teachers face today, including maximizing resources, parental involvement, using universally designed instruction, and assessing the individual needs of students who are on the autism spectrum.
This program:
- Is only 30 credits.
- Can be completed in as little as one year.
- Includes a practicum capstone that allows students to gain hands-on experience with individuals on the autism spectrum.

This program is designed for individuals who want to diagnose and assess the learning needs of students. The curriculum provides in-depth training on using standardized and curriculum-based assessments to diagnose learning and developmental disabilities in students. This master’s degree is aligned with the Educational Diagnostician Certification in the state of Texas.
This program:
- Is only 36 credits.
- Has a Texas Educational Diagnostician Certification pass rate of 100% over the last two years.
- Provides instruction of how to use AI tools for maximum impact in the classroom.
Superintendent Certification
This program is designed for principals and assistant principals who want to strengthen their skills as school leaders and promote the success of all students in their district. In as little as two semesters, students in this program will learn how to develop and maintain relationships with school boards and facilitate development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship in a school district through coursework and practicum.
This program:
- Is only 16 credits.
- Is an approved educator preparation program in Texas.
- Has a Texas Superintendent Certification pass rate of 92% in the 2023-2024 academic year.
Educational Diagnostician Certification
This program is designed for individuals who already have a master’s degree and want to diagnose and assess the learning needs of students. The curriculum provides in-depth training on using standardized and curriculum-based assessments to diagnose learning and developmental disabilities in students. This certification program is aligned with the Educational Diagnostician Certification in the state of Texas.
