MATH2412 Precalculus

Course Description

MATH 2412 prepares students for Calculus. It begins with a review of algebra skills. The bulk of the course is dedicated to learning the definition and applications of certain functions. These include:

  • Exponential functions (with a real variable exponent).
  • Logarithmic functions.
  • Trigonometric functions, using angle measurement in radians or degrees.

These functions share the property that calculation requires more effort than can be done without technical aid. Students are required to have a scientific calculator or equivalent technology when studying material. No cell phones, tablets, etc. can be used on tests.

Course Credits: 4

Prerequisites: MATH1314, MATH1324
