Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree must complete 42 credit hours of general education courses to satisfy degree requirements. Students pursuing a BBA must complete 47 credit hours of general education courses. Core curriculum credits received from other regionally accredited institutions may be transferrable as long as they meet the requirements for transfer of credit.
Conforming to the requirements of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and comprising a broad range of disciplines, the general education core provides students with a foundation of knowledge that will help ensure success in their chosen program and career field. Core subjects, including history, mathematics, and life and physical sciences, will help students gain intellectual, interpersonal, and practical skills and better understand the diverse world in which they live.
On the Courses tab, students can view course details as well as prerequisites, semester offerings, and credit hour requirements. Core courses are entirely online and are either 8 or 16 weeks in duration.
